Catalogue No. 1704
This is a mid 19th century walnut writing slope (c1860). The writing slope is edged with ebony. The writing slope opens to reveal its original blue leather writing surface and the front compartment is fitted with the usual arrangement of pen tray, stamp slide and two compartments for square glass inkwells (missing). There are two secret drawers that are accessed raising one of the partitions that releases a spring to remove the false front panel. Very good quality and condition.
