This is a mid 19th century (c.1840) rosewood davenport desk. The desk consists of four graduated drawers, each fitted with their original turned knob handles, with identical dummy drawer fronts to the opposing side. The top writing section slides forward to form a knee-hole and is fitted with a pen drawer. The desk retains it's original leather writing surface. The writing surface lifts to reveal a space for papers etc. The desk is fitted with a key. The drawer linings are very clean. The davenport is in good condition throughout with only minor marks commensurate with age and usage. The leather writing surface has a few marks and could be changed if required.
