This is an early 20th century (c.1900) freestanding oak pedestal writing desk. The desk has the normal configuration of nine drawers around a central knee-hole. Each pedestal stands on a plinth base with recessed castors. The drawers are fitted with replacement brass loop handles. The top is fitted with a gilt tooled green leather writing surface, which is in excellent condition. The desk separates into three parts for ease of transport.
