This is a late 19th/early 20th century (c.1900) oak pedestal desk. The desk is constructed in the usual way, having a pair of pedestals and a top writing section. The pedestals stand on plinth bases, fitted with castors below. Each pedestal has three graduated drawers. The top section has a further three drawers. The drawers are fitted with brass plate handles and the desk is fitted with a key. The top is fitted with a green and gilt tooled leather writing surface. The desk is very clean and in excellent condition throughout, with only the odd minor mark commensurate with age and usage.
Height of knee-hole - 60cm, width of knee-hole 47cm.
