Catalogue No. 1989
This is an early 20th century (c.1920) oak partners desk. The desk has the normal configuration of an arrangement of nine drawers around a central kneehole, with three drawers and a pair of cupboards to the reverse side. The desk is constructed in solid oak throughout with the pedestals having four panels to each side. Each pedestal stands on a narrow plinth and is fitted with recessed castors for ease of movement. The top section retails it's original black leather cloth writing surface. Each door is fitted with a key and there is also a single key for the drawers. The desk is in three separate parts (top and two pedestals). The desk is in good condition throughout with a few marks and blemishes in the writing surface (no tears) commensurate with age and usage. There is also a small ink stain to the left hand top drawer on the cupboard side. The drawers all work and run well.
