Catalogue No. 2178
This is a mid 18th century (c.1760) Georgian oak mule chest. The mule chest is constructed in oak throughout, with a panelled back, plain sides and a three moulded front panel, above two drawers that are fitted with brass swan neck handles. The top retains it's original brass hinges and is constructed in two sections so that you can gain access to the items stored without having to remove everything from the top. The top is also hinged at the rear so that the entire top can be lifted if required. The original candle box is on the top left of the interior. The mule chest is in excellent condition throughout, with only minor bumps and blemishes commensurate with age and usage.
