Catalogue No. 1985
This is a mid 18th century (c.1760) oak dresser base. The dresser is constructed in solid oak though-out. The dresser has two panels to each end and is fitted with three short drawers, each having brass drop handles. There are two cupboards that have geometric moulded decoration, together with a fixed central panel, decorated with the same geometric moulding. The two cupboards extend behind the central fixed panel and the left hand cupboard is fitted with a shelf. The dresser stands on stile feet, is very clean and exhibits a rich warm colour. There are a couple of old repairs to each end of the rear of the top, where it originally had a plate rack.
