Catalogue No. 1879
This is a late 17th century (c.1680) oak coffer of panelled construction. The coffer is on panelled construction throughout, having four panels front and rea and a four panelled lid. The front legs and rails have a worked moulding decoration. The coffer retains it's original lock plate and hasp and also it's original wrought iron hinges. The coffer is in very good clean condition with an old repair to the bottom of one back leg. There are minor bumps and blemishes due to age and usage, which add to this coffer's charm.
