Catalogue No. 1751
This is a early 18th century oak coffer of paneled construction (c.1730). The coffer has fielded panels to each end and the front has very decorative and unusual recocco shaped panels, giving this country item a very sophisticated look. The coffer retains its original iron hinges, iron loop carrying handles and internal candle box. The coffer has mellowed to a warm honey colour and is in excellent condition.
