Catalogue No. 1897
This is a mid 18th century (c.1750) oak chest on stand (stand associated). The chest is of diminutive proportions and stands on cabriole legs joined with a shaped apron. The base chest section has two long, two short and a narrow frieze drawer below the moulded pediment. The chest is in good overall condition. Two of the drawer fronts have old repairs around the locks and various old marks where handles have been changed over the years. Although old, the base section is a later replacement, as are the brass drop handles.
