The chest stands on stile feet. The drawers have applied moulding decoration, with the top drawer and top rail having an architectural moulding. The drawers run on 'side runners' (the drawer sides are grooved and have corresponding battens in the carcass) not seen on chest of drawers after 1700. The chest is in good clean condition with no splits to the panels. The chest has the odd age related mark commensurate with age.
