Catalogue No. 1803
This is a late 18th century (c.1770) oak chest of two short and three long drawers. The chest stands on its original shaped bracket feet. The drawers are constructed with oak sides and have pine drawer bottoms (the bottoms almost certainly would have been lined with blue lining paper). The drawers retain their original brass swan neck handles. The top has a 'caddy moulding' to the top (referred to as 'caddy moulding' as it is the same moulding seen on a tea caddy of the same period). A very clean country made chest with a good colour and no damage (lacking three internal drawer locks).
