Catalogue No. 1917
This is an early 19th century (c.1820) Georgian oak and mahogany chest of two short and three long drawers. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet. The rails between the drawers are faced with mahogany, making this chest a little bit different and characteristic of furniture from the northern counties of England, notably Lancashire. The top of the chest is edged with a wide banding of mahogany. The drawers are fitted with replacement oval brass plate handles. The long drawers retain their original blue lining paper. The chest is in good overall clean condition with no marks or damage, apart from one minor bruise to the moulding on the top front edge.
