This is a mid 19th century (c.1850) mahogany silver trunk. The trunk is constructed from good quality mahogany throughout and has brass carrying handles and safety catches. The lid opens to reveal a fitted tray that is lined in dark blue velvet. The inside of the lid is also lined and padded with button decoration in the same blue velvet. The tray lifts out to reveal a lower compartment, which is also fitted and lined. The trunk is fitted with a key. This trunk is excellent quality throughout with only the odd small age related blemish.
