Catalogue No. 1702
This is a set of six early 19th century mahogany dining chairs, in the Hepplewhite style. They have an inverted tear-drop central splat, decorated with raised beading. The crest rail is pagoda shaped with carved floral motifs to each side. The chairs have moulded and tapered front legs. The chairs are generally in good clean condition, with one small repair to the top rail of one chair. The chairs are sturdy and the upholstery is sound. However there are marks to the fabric covering but when the fundamental upholstery is good we tend to leave the covers alone as the choice of fabric is a very personal one.
Height to seat is 47cm. Overall height is 93cm.
