This is a set of six early 19th century mahogany dining chairs, consisting of two carvers and four singles. The chairs are constructed of a very dense and good quality mahogany that has a very rich colour. The front legs are turned and have reeded decoration. The chair backs have a plain crest rail and a shaped and carved centre rail, in the form of a scroll, which is a reflection of the arms on the carver chairs. The seats are upholstered in an ivory fabric with an embossed mesh pattern. These chairs are in excellent condition and are sturdy with no repairs and no marks to the upholstery.
