Catalogue No. 2033
This is a late 18th century (c.1780) Georgian mahogany chest on chest. The lower section is fitted with three long drawers. The top section has three long and two short drawers. The drawer linings are constructed in oak throughout and are particularly clean. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet, typical of the period. The drawers retain their original brass swan neck handles. The top section is decorated with a moulded cornice including a dentil section (dentil moulding is so named because it resembles a row of teeth). The chest on chest is in very good clean condition throughout with only a few minor marks commensurate with age and usage.
The width measurement is from the outer edge of the cornice (widest point).
