Catalogue No. 1867
This is an early 19th century (c.1810) mahogany chest of four long drawers. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet with a central shaped apron. The drawers are fitted with replacement brass lion mask ring handles, appropriate for the age. The drawer fronts exhibit a good grain to the mahogany. The top is edged with a reeded moulding typical of the period. The chest is of good proportions and is a warm rich colour, with only a few minor blemishes, commensurate with age and usage.
