Catalogue No. 2291
This is an early 19th century (c.1840) mahogany chest of two short and three long drawers. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet. The drawers are fitted with replacement brass oval plate handles and retain their original blue lining paper. Both the drawer fronts and the top are veneered in a particularly well grain patterned mahogany with the top having a wide cross-banding decoration to all sides. The chest is in good clean condition throughout with only a few minor marks, commensurate with age and usage.
