This is an early 19th century (c.1820) Georgian mahogany chest of four long drawers. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet and is fitted with four graduated drawers which have ivory inlaid escutcheons and replacement brass oval plate handles (appropriate to the period). The top of the chest is decorated with a boxwood line inlay, bordering a crossbanded edge. The chest exhibits a rich warm colour and is in good clean condition throughout with only a few minor blemishes commensurate with age.
