This is a mid 19th century (c.1860) mahogany balloon back desk chair. The chair has scrolled and moulded arms and stands on turned front legs. The back has a central carved rail, decorated with scrolls and stylized leaves. The seat has been re-upholstered in dark tan leather, finished with a traditional close dome-topped nail edge. The chair is excellent quality throughout, with only very minor marks through usage, commensurate with age.
Height to seat - 48cm. Depth of seat - 50cm. Width of seat at narrowest point (between the arms) - 47cm.
