This is an early 19th century (c.1800) Georgian mahogany chest of drawers of small proportions. The chest is fitted with a brushing slide (a brushing slide was used for 'brushing down' clothes to remove dust etc prior to storage. Brushing slides became less popular around c.1830). This chest in in total original condition, retaining its original shaped bracket feet, its original handles and its original baize to the brushing slide. The chest is in good clean condition with only minor marks commensurate with age and usage. There is some ink staining to the inside of the top drawer.
