This is a late 17th century (c.1690) elm chest of two short and three long drawers, from the William and Mary period. The chest stands on replacement bun feet, appropriate to the period. The drawers are constructed in elm throughout and are fitted with brass drop handles. The chest is a rare piece and exhibits a lovely warm colour. Overall the chest is clean and in very good condition, with only some minor age related marks to the top, commensurate with age.
